ELPA was AFAIK not a package but is still the archive hosted on [1]

The package manager was always known as package.el, but many referred to it as ELPA, because of the repo name. The official Emacs repo is named ELPA as well. Bozhidar 17:17, 29 March 2012 (EEST)

May be we can have a page called "Package Managers" and put pointers to package.el and el-get (any other) instead of deleting this page.? Kindahero 17:22, 29 March 2012 (EEST)

Isn't it better to link to the category "Package Manager" instead? Or maybe to have a package describing what a package manager is? I deleted the page simply because all of its content was moved elsewhere and it seemed odd to keep it empty. Bozhidar
