Installing Emacs

GNU Releases

Unpack the zip file to a directory and read the included file README.W32 for more information on installation.

Cygwin

Recommended for unix-savvy users who need to get work done on a Windows machine. Uses a dpkg-style package manager which includes Emacs, X11 and many other standard GNU, BSD and POSIX tools.
